MTV (BG)
this weeks reading i thought was interesting. Although i started to question some of the things i listen to and how some of the kids in Disney got into the business either because their parents were already involoved like Miley Cyrus or because they had extrodanry talent like siging or playing an insterment or even acting. Watching the vedio really shows how far music vedios have come and the music. todays techology has come so far that it can take a crappy music vedio with a singer that cant sing or dance, and make them look and sound amazing. so when watching the vedio, or even making vedios, it dosent come down to how you sound anymore, its all about image, and how you look. while reading Buddy Holly and the black tour i found it interesting and cool to read about a band just starting out and how they overcame certain struggles. To play at the Apolo is an amazing acomplishment in my personal opinion, i personally dont think i could do it cause i would be so shaken with nerves. Being a dancer and performing on a stage in front of a ton of pepole, i know the audiance can be really harsh sometimes, and you need to know how to win them back on the spot to keep the show going, this band was in a little bit different enviorment but the concept is still the same. The Buddy Holly reading was kind of contridicting to the MTV vedio. With Buddy Holly it wasnt all just about the looks, it was about the way they performed and sounded, where today it seems to be all about the looks, glitz and glamore.
