While reading "Buddy Holly and the "black tour,"" it showed me that if a song is good appearance doesn't matter. In the story everywhere he went they weren't the same skin color but because of how good they were and preformed it didn't matter. This taught me that we shouldn't judge musicians on how they look we should judge them on how they sound and preform.

MTV/Buddy
When watching the first video on MTV it reminded me that MTV at one point in history actually played music. Even though this video was way before my time it still reminded me of when I was younger. When I was younger my older sister and I would always watch TRL and all the other random shows related to music (ex. Say What Karaoke) but, through the years it has changed. In the video it talks about how it is the first channel that will play music 24/7, when did this idea fade away? Now whenever you turn to MTV it's all shows and documentaries that have nothing to do with music. I can vouch for a lot of other people and say that the old MTV needs to comeback. I also realized a few other things while watching this short clip. It's amazing how far special effects and technology has come in the last thirty years. When reading the article about MTV turning 10 I never thought about someone's looks having to be good in order to be a musician. For me I don't believe this should happen because music is based on sound not looks, but I guess it is true that you can't change someone's looks but you can change how they sound in the studio. While reading this story it opened my eyes to a big part of music history that I wasn't around for.
