MTV (Kevin)

Watching the first MTV broadcast was pretty weird. I thought it was cool how they used something that happened around that time, the moon landing, and used it in their opening to bring people in and make MTV seem like they are know all around. It was also cool to see that when MTV first started they stuck to their name and played music, not like the MTV today that is filled with reality shows. And when they weren't playing music they were talking about news related to music and everything else related to music, not how to "fist pump." It was also funny that when everyone spoke they said something about MTV being in stereo and how its no-stop music. I wish MTV still did this, instead of playing music from 3:00am to about 9:00am. While MTV was changing they still had a show or two that played music. TRL was one of these shows. I would watch this everyday after school when it was still on. That way I could do my homework while listening to music, instead of going to find my CD player. Now that we have iPods and MTV is ruined I just listen to my iPod while i do it. I think MTV moving away from music was a terrible choice. They no longer focus on music at all, its now a TV station that is for teenage girls so they can watch Teen Mom and Jersey Shore. But after moving to Kent I found MTV U, which I didn't have back home, and it actually plays music and I stick to that now.

I heard about this - perhaps MTV is responding to these widespread it-used-to-be-about-the MUSIC complaints...?
