What is cool? (BG)

after reading this weeks readings, i think that it makes a good point and can easily relate to today especially in high schools. in high school and even in college your trying to figure yourself out and if you hear everyone else doing something like smoking your gonna think its cool and that its normal. your going to want to fit in and not be the odd one out. Its hard to not to fall into that shadow. but at the same time you got to do some searching yourself. this articular talks about the "trickle up" theory where cool finders get their ideas from normal people. i dont think this is a bad theory as long as you take that idea and make it your own because then your just stealing it from someone. Take the idea but put your own thoughts and views in. i think honestly everyone goes through a cool cycle and it wears off. Kids and teenagers and college kids all go through them to figure where they want to go in life. i think that you just have to know where the line is between taking someones idea and taking the idea but making it your own.

  1. Cool is definitely cyclical, Beth - today's "in" is often tomorrow's "out"...
